Plastic Flowers live at Mercado Negro in our latest Bolachas Session. What an amazing concert by a Greek dream pop act you’ll hear a lot about in the future. Tomorrow they’ll embark on a journey through the US, starting in Austin where they’ll play several SXSW showcases, followed by a small east coast tour. Make sure you follow them on Facebook for more info on showcases and US gigs.

Our favorite Plastic Flowers are back (again!) with a new song, “In You I’m Lost”, an acoustic number recorded by senselens while the band was recording their next release, which means we’ll hopefully get to listen to a proper full length by our Greek friends in the new year. The new song is somewhat even quieter than their latest output (cassettes still available on Cakes and Tapes!), a perfect fit for your cold Autumn.
You can grab the MP3 for free here.

There’s so much to love about my favorite Greek band, Plastic Flowers. After releasing two EPs on our Cakes and Tapes, the always shape-shifting ambient pop duo has just put out a new single, “Empty Eyes”, through Bad Panda Records. “Empty Eyes” showcases their poppier side, which could and should be more explored by them on future releases.
Natural Conspiracy is still available for download on a pay-what-you-want basis at Bandcamp, and there’s a limited number of green cassettes still available for purchase as well. Grab it below.

a BOLACHAS.org premiere
Plastic Flowers may have released their sophomore EP Natural Conspiracy on cassette just one week ago, but their third release is already on its way. There’s no info about when Aftermath will be released yet, but while they were recording it in an old mansion outside Thessaloniki they played a two hour set for senselens, who captured this beautiful rework of a track off their first EP, “United Populists”, with added synthesizers and ethereal guitarplay. Plastic Flowers is a band constantly searching their own sonority and this take on an old song does a great job in showing that to the rest of us. (Plus, you also get one full minute of people talking in Greek, which is one of the most beautiful languages on Earth although I can’t understand it.)
Grab your Natural Conspiracy and Meltdown tapes (and free digital files!) now on Cakes and Tapes.
