There must be something in the water: in the last couple of months, the Lisbon area seems to be spawning the best post-post-post-post-rock.. oh well, let’s just call it “instrumental rock” acts in the whole continent. After uppercasers SAUR released their debut EP earlier in the year, lowercaser marasmo follows up with yet another brilliant instrumental extended play. Unlike his counterparts from Alverca, who focus more on their guitar play, marasmo – being some sort of one-man-band – privileges drony soundscapes, reminiscent of some crossover between GY!BE member Efrim Manuel Menuck’s solo album and its own band’s music.
