Another week, another Bolachas-curated playlist, with two added Natalie Prass songs – we’re really high on her selftitled debut LP – as well as brand new songs from indie darlings Torres and Courtney Barnett, two more songs from January habitués The Decemberists and Belle & Sebastian, a bunch of both upcoming (Adia Victoria) and established (José González, Jim White) singer-songwriters, refreshing new singles from Mikal Cronin and Lower Dens, a couple of songs from crossing-over R&B musicians D’Angelo and Jazmine Sullivan, as well as a chilly new tune by Chilly Gonzales. The always shapeshifting entity known as Bolachas – this sort of webzine (whatever that word really means) that was once also a download blog, a mp3 blog, a carefully curated platform for unknown artists to promote their music for free, a netlabel, a promoter, some sort of booking agency – turns 9 this year.
