Plus: new tracks by Sufjan Stevens, Ed Askew Band, James Elkington, The Dead Tongues, Cut Worms, Cool Sounds, Tommy Alexander, Grady Strange, Trummors, Nathan Ma, Jason Molina Music, Send Medicine, This Is The Kit, Porridge Radio, Madeline Kenney, SAMIA, Ron Gallo, Delta Spirit, Fontaines D.C., Les Big Byrd, Bananagun, Mulatu Astatke (Official Artist Page) & Black Jesus Experience (BJX), Ezra Feinberg, and Jeremy Cunningham & Dustin Laurenzi.
#212: Twain, “Adventure”
Twain has just released their new album, “Adventure”. Physical copies will only be out next year through our beloved Keeled Scales, but you can listen to its nine new tunes right now, just in time for winter. “Rare Feeling” was one of our favourite song-oriented albums of the latter half of the 10s. It is in great company now. Our last new music playlist of 2019 also features tracks by Sam Sanford, Toby Hay, Benjamin Tod, Soccer Mommy, The Secret Sisters, The String Cheese Incident, Luke Lalonde, The Hanging Stars, Roger Harvey, Hollow Ship, Les Big Byrd, Ondness, Action Bronson, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Coldplay, El Khat, The Good Ones, Adam Green, Bombay Bicycle club, and Scott & Charlene’s Wedding.
Hiss Golden Messenger’s eleventh record in eleven years, “Terms of Surrender”, is our album of the week. Another gem, as usual from one of our favourite songwriters of the 2010s. Plus: new tracks by Andrew Combs, Longriver, Vetiver, Wilco, Jonathan Wilson, Kacy & Clayton, Caitlin Jemma, Leonard Cohen, Simon Joyner, Itasca, Brittany Howard, Leslie Stevens, Anna Ash, Soccer Mommy, Karl Blau, Jim Lauderdale, Jason James, Giant Sand, LIFE, Mikal Cronin, The New Pornographers, Nico LaOnda, YĪN YĪN, and Les Big Byrd.
