nice stuff from Brighton, UK.

Another solid release from the folk songwriters mine that is Other Songs Music Co, the label from Hamilton, Ontario. James Hoffman’s “The Union” is out next June 7th and it’s already available for pre-order on their Bandcamp. Listen/download to the whistle-blessed “The Oregon Song” below. Portland, you should be proud.

Wait, wait! One of Bolachas’ most darling songwriters, Orion Rigel Dommisse, has just unexpectedly selfreleased a new album. It’s been a while (almost four years!) since Language of Stone put out her debut album, “What I Want From You Is Sweet”. The best thing about it (well, I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet…) is that it’s freely downloadable from Bandcamp – although, like I did, you should totally donate something to her. Definitely get it if you enjoy the forest vibe of bands like Arborea, Espers, Fern Knight, Faun Fables.. mellotrons and cellos. Streaming and download widget below.

Nice pop-folk-rock-whatever record. Fill it under “good music with guitars and horns”. Take a listen and buy digital below.
Exit Wounds by The Oxygen Ponies
“Megna’s battered voice and bruised psyche captures the desperation and dejection of modern day America. Yet tough times do make for great art. And Megna’s sparse arrangements (lots of space between the notes!) and flair for the dramatic is cut from the classic stuff of Dylan’sBlonde on Blonde, Wait’s Closing Time and just about anything by Leonard Cohen or Elliot Smith.”
