Our favorite Plastic Flowers are back (again!) with a new song, “In You I’m Lost”, an acoustic number recorded by senselens while the band was recording their next release, which means we’ll hopefully get to listen to a proper full length by our Greek friends in the new year. The new song is somewhat even quieter than their latest output (cassettes still available on Cakes and Tapes!), a perfect fit for your cold Autumn.

You can grab the MP3 for free here.

I’ve posted about Will Samson before and I’m still so excited about his new album, Balance that I felt the need to post about him again. The video for “Eat Sleep Travel, Repeat”, made by Trunk Films, was shot somewhere in Portugal during a surf trip and it radiates so many tranquility rays that it seems like the song was made to fit the video and not the other way around. So good that our tourism department should buy the video and stick a “Visit Portugal” logo all over it. Think about that.

J. Tex might have spent all his life in Denmark, but his roots lie deep in American soil: he was actually born in Detroit, so you can now stop not taking him seriously as a country singer just because he comes from chilly Scandinavia. (Come on, everyone loves Scandinavian songwriters, why shouldn’t you?) “Look Up Look Down” smells classic through its three minutes and is the first single off his latest record – the first album I’ve heard from him and his Volunteers – named House on the Hill, which was just released last week. You can get it via Swedish alt label Heptown Records.

So.ma – Fuga EP (2012)

Fuga may be So.ma’s debut release, but none of the band members can be called a novice. Raising from the ashes of the mid-00s Portuguese powerhouse Madcab, which included now-well established musicians Luís Costa or Azevedo Silva, So.ma’s first EP follows the footsteps of said now defunct act and drinks from the same water that made Oceansize’s brand of neoprogrock (whatever that means) so popular in the latter years of last decade. You can stream and download the five tracks for free on their Bandcamp. Just follow the widget below.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor have just released their new album, ‘ALLELUJAH! DON’T BEND! ASCEND!, the first since they got back together after almost a decade of absence, which you can listen in its entirety below. Like if that fact wasn’t celebratory enough, they’re playing yet another new song live – a 45min song appropriately named “Behemoth”. Their taper-friendly policy means everyone gets to listen to it – the full concert is available here – even if you can’t attend one of the shows on their European tour, starting next week in Porto. Full set of dates here.
