There’s so much to love about my favorite Greek band, Plastic Flowers. After releasing two EPs on our Cakes and Tapes, the always shape-shifting ambient pop duo has just put out a new single, “Empty Eyes”, through Bad Panda Records. “Empty Eyes” showcases their poppier side, which could and should be more explored by them on future releases.

Natural Conspiracy is still available for download on a pay-what-you-want basis at Bandcamp, and there’s a limited number of green cassettes still available for purchase as well. Grab it below.

Will Samson is not your average singer-songwriter. His blend of fragmented, ambient electronica and minimalist folk sure isn’t that original in the middle of 2012 (not that I’m looking for “originality” in songs) but we’re in for a treat judging from the only song available from his forthcoming album, Balance, coming out next October 5th on German imprint Karaoke Kalk (Dakota Suite, Hauschka).

Plastic Flowers’ calm and beautiful new EP, Natural Conspiracy, was already available for free streaming and download via Bandcamp. Today we’re releasing it on cassette, via Cakes and Tapes; you can see some pics of 3 of the 33 (!) cassettes available for purchase via Bandcamp and stream it all below. If you live in either Portugal, Greece or Ireland, Cakes and Tapes will refund you the shipping costs after you place your order. No more austerity for you! Something for Someone by And the Giraffe

Meet And the Giraffe, an american dream-folk duo with ambient elements, composed by Gainesville, Florida born and raised friends Josh Morris and Nick Roberts. I’ve found out about this band thanks to a little spam by these guys on Twitter (I guess it was worth it, so feel free to bother us), and I did like what I heard. Really got into the simple but out of the blue electric guitar, and I think I also enjoyed the singer, although it kinda reminds me of John Mayer (well, a “now we’re serious” John Mayer at least). Go listen you “choninhas” fans.
